Dr David Lipkin BSc MD FRCP
Biography
Dr David Lipkin qualified at Leeds University in 1978 with distinction and was a gold medallist student.
​
Since then has worked in several London hospitals including University College, Royal Brompton, London Chest, National Heart and Hammersmith Hospitals.
​
He is an honorary consultant cardiologist and honorary senior lecturer at the Royal Free Hospital.
Clinical Practice
Dr Lipkin routinely sees NHS and private patients with a wide range of common cardiac problems including: Angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, referrals for investigation of palpitations and collapse, cardiovascular risk assessment, perioperative cardiac assessment and treatment of elevated cholesterol levels.

Specialist Interest
Dr Lipkin's major interest is in coronary artery disease, coronary angiography, non-invasive CT coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty including the treatment of angina and heart attacks. He also has a major interest in heart failure and the treatment of valvular heart disease and cardiomyopathies (abnormal heart muscle).

Research Publications
Dr Lipkin has written numerous research publications in all aspects of general adult cardiology including a Coronary Care Manual that was published in book format by Oxford University Press. He has also contributed to major cardiology textbooks.
